  • “Unable to connect to backend. Access denied. HTTP error 403”

    Brand new, fresh install of WordPress 4.9. The *ONLY* plugin installed (not just active, but the only one installed) is File Manager.

    When I go to File Manager, I get the error: “Unable to connect to backend. Access denied. HTTP error 403”

    Here is the FULL HTAccess file:
    ===================================
    # BEGIN WordPress
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ – [L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
    </IfModule>

    # END WordPress
    ===================================

    @davetavres,

    It is the problem with you permission I think.
    Go to you cPanel and set the permission to 0755 and owner should be www-data.

    Thanks for contacting.
