    Hi!
    I’ve set a custom message for Publicize via a filter. It works great, except when I import posts from ifttt.com or I write a post from my android phone, using the official app.

    The result is that most of the whole post is spoiled on FB, which is not what I want. It results in less visits to my blog, and that’s bad. I’ve even tried to set my excerpt length to less than 55 words, but it doesn’t work.

    Is there a filter or a function of some sort that the wpas_default_prefix filter can be used everywhere and not be ignored? I’ve also tried to put the filter in the mu-plugins folder, but that doesn’t seem to help either.

    Sorry for bad English.

    Could you post the code you’ve used here or in a pastebin, so I can run some tests and try to understand what happened?

    Thanks!

    Hi!
    The code I’ve used is this one:

    add_filter( 'wpas_default_message', 'ame_default_publicize_message', 10, 4 );
    function ame_default_publicize_message() {
    	$default_message = 'Freshly pressed from the blog!';
    	return $default_message;
    }

    I’ve also tried using prefix and suffix, but that doesn’t seem to work either…

    Thanks for the extra details.

    I think I understand what you’re trying to change now. Unfortunately, I don’t have any good news. There is no filter allowing you to change that behaviour right now. It is, however, on our roadmap. You can follow our progress here:
    https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/261

    I’ll also post again here as soon as I have news.

    Until then, I’m afraid there is no way to work around this issue, short of posting to Facebook manually, or via another plugin like SNAP.

    Thanks! I’ll follow the issue and hope for a solution real soon then.
